The blade material is 1095 Cro-Van which is a moderate carbon with a low chromium steel alloy, which in basic terms means it will hold an edge very well! 
The Sheath not only has the 2 stud straps to hold the knife in but also has a back clip built in which you can mount the knife in any position and it will hold in place. Traditionally mounted handle downwards for quick draw.
