Hezza Slaya WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2026 - ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!

It’s official – one WA's biggest Fishing Competitions, the Hezza Slaya World Championship, is heading to Augusta on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th November 2026! We’re absolutely pumped to see how the new venue goes, and we’re hoping the bigger range of accommodation options and huge variety of fishing spots will encourage even more legends to get involved and chase down the Biggest Hezza.

 

We’ve teamed up with a handful of local businesses who are offering exclusive accommodation discounts for our competitors:

 

Turner Holiday Park / Flinders Bay Holiday Park

Caravan and camping sites are available at both parks. Turner Holiday Park also has a very limited number of cabins available. If you’re travelling with pets, please book at Flinders Holiday Park, as it is the pet-friendly location. Boat parking inside the parks will be limited. You do have the option to launch your boat and pull up on the foreshore in front of Turner (at your own risk). If you’re bringing both a boat and a caravan, we recommend contacting Yiradjinda to discuss additional options.

 

Yiradjinda is offering a 10% discount on accommodation.

  • Call 9780 5633 to book and mention you’re part of the Hezza Slaya group.

  • Or book online and pay your deposit, then leave a note in the comments section saying you’re part of the event. They’ll apply the discount in the background and send an updated confirmation.

     

Augusta Hotel

The Augusta Hotel is offering their 2025 room rates to anyone attending the event. Simply call to book on 9758 1944 and let them know you’re part of the Hezza Slaya World Championship. They are also planning to assist with boat parking on their grassed area. If you’re bringing a boat, make sure to mention this when booking.

 

Experience Augusta

Experience Augusta offers a wide range of quality accommodation—from budget-friendly to luxury holiday houses and apartments. Many are family-friendly, pet-friendly, self-catering, and feature stunning ocean or river views.

 

They have kindly offered a 5% discount for direct bookings on properties with suitable boat parking.

  • Call 0492 288 086 during office hours (Mon–Fri 10am–3pm, Sat–Sun 10am–12 noon).

 

We’ll be holding registrations on Thursday afternoon, weigh-in on Friday afternoon, and the final weigh-in and prize presentations on Saturday at the Augusta Hotel. We are also looking at offering an online registration option this year, knowing that we’ll all be a bit more spread out and it’s not always possible to catch everyone before fishing begins. We’ll keep you posted as this progresses.​

 

We honestly cannot wait to bring the Hezza Slaya World Championship to Augusta for 2026. A new location brings a fresh vibe, new fishing grounds, and the chance for even more people to get involved. The community support has already been unreal, and we’re counting down the days until we can all come together again, share a yarn, have a laugh, and see who will take out the crown of the Biggest Hezza.
